1. Printer Working but Nothing is Printing

Warping occurs when the corners or edges of a print lift away from the build plate. Elephant’s foot appears when the first few layers spread outward, making the bottom of the print wider than intended.

  • Incorrect bed temperature

  • Uneven cooling

  • Poor first-layer adhesion

  • Incorrect first-layer settings

Solution: Ensure the build plate is properly leveled and clean. Use the recommended bed temperature and control cooling, especially during the first few layers. For elephant’s foot, adjusting the Z-offset or first-layer settings can help.



6. Stringing & Poor Surface Finish

Stringing occurs when thin strands of filament appear between different parts of the print. It can make the finished model look messy and reduce surface quality.

  • Incorrect retraction settings

  • Printing temperature too high

  • Excessive travel distance

  • Moisture in the filament

Solution: Adjust the retraction settings and reduce the printing temperature if it is too high. Keep filament dry and properly stored. A retraction test can help find the right settings for your material and printer.



7. Layer Shifting

Layer shifting occurs when one or more layers of the print become misaligned, resulting in a visibly shifted or distorted model.

  • Loose or improperly tensioned belts

  • Printing speed set too high
